DAY 01
AIRPORT / GALLE

- Arrive at the Airport
- Meet & Assist on arrival by a rep of Asiana Vacations
- Leave to Galle
- Overnight stay in Galle

After the arrival at the Airport, leaves for Galle. Located at 116 km from Colombo, Galle is the most significant city of southern Sri Lanka. A town with an old world colonial inheritance with and ancient port. (Said to be the legendry “Tar Shish” of the holy bible). it’s natural harbor was famous fort in days gone by. Our first international commerce & Trade. The 17th century built Old Dutch fort has the distinction of being the best-preserved sea fort in South Asia. Enter through the imposing stone bastions that encircle the sea-facing promontory and step back in time. Inside the fort premises you will find that it exudes old world charm and the unique colonial architecture a blend of Dutch and English.






The Narrow Street and pathways are dotted with Dutch colonial villas, Dutch church (Groote Kerk) Dutch Governor’s House, The new Oriental Hotel (Built in 1684), Old bell tower, Several museums and antique shops which are on displays curiosities from the Island’s colonial era. Among the many other colonial buildings, the most absorbing site is the Dutch reformed Church, containing ornately carved memorials to the city’s Dutch settlers. The Portuguese built the first port in Galle when they landed in 1505 and later Portuguese was conquered by Dutch in 1640. After which the fortifications were expanded, developed and the grid street system were established. Later on, further extensions were made during the British period.

DAY 02
GALLE / YALA NATIONAL PARK SAFARI

After breakfast at the Hotel leaves for Tissa Maharama the gateway to Yala National Park.

Check-in to the Hotel and afternoon safari at Yala National Park.

Yala national park is famous as one of the best national parks in Asia to visit, observe and photograph leopards. The park covers an area of 100,000 hectares and in divided into five blocks and one side bordering to the southern beach coast. The south east coastline of Yala forms a major nesting ground for marine turtles.

yala is famous for it’s Elephant population, seen in small and large groups, spotted deer, sambhur, barking deer, Monkeys, Wild buffalos, wild boar, sloth bear and innumerable verities of birds both endemic and migratory. Peacock is the most famous among the birds at Yala. It is possible to take full day jeep safaris or to split your day into morning and afternoon drives. A jeep safari will afford you the most unforgettable opportunity to see some of the islands most celebrated creatures.

DAY 03
RATHNAPURA / NEGAMBO

Early breakfast at the Hotel and leave for Rathnapura City of Gems.

Sri Lanka’s city of Gems (Rathna : Gems + Pura : City) located in the Sabaragamuwa Province is the centre has been famous for it’s gems since centauries. Rathnapura is the island’s richest source of gems. A trip to working gem mine provides a fascinating glimpse into the mining process which is largely carried out by hand.

Legend says that King Solomon in Biblical times wooed the Queen of Sheba with precious stones from this ‘Paradise Isle’. Soloman has sent his emissaries to the City of Gems in the orient (Ratnarura in Sri Lanka) to procure the gems that won him the hand and then heart of the Queen.
















Sri Lanka has already made a unique contribution to the Prince William’s big day. The 12 Carat oval Blue Sapphire at the center of the engagement ring given to Kate Middleton originally came from Sri Lanka and it was earlier worn by late princess Diana. The St. Edward’s Sapphire which is set in a Maltese cross at the top of the imperial Crown of State now worn by the Queen of England, Elizabeth 2, also traces its origin to Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka Blue Sapphire’s have been well-known for many generations for its natural color and luster. And it is the Sri Lanka’s Gem Supreme and the finest in the world. This precious gem has a high clarity transparency and saturation of color which is a hall mark of an excellent Blue Sapphire.

Negambo
Situated 6km from Colombo international airport and 37km from Colombo capitol is an excellent option for those on a short trip to the island or on a transit flight.

Negambo is a typical fishing town majority of Catholics. Set amid lush grooves of coconut palm, the town has a long history of tourism and a wide sandy beach. Also attract the visitor with Old Dutch canal boat tours, narrow street, small boutiques, Catholic churches, colorful fish market and beachside Bars after dark. Negambo is a well famous town for finest seafood in plenty.


DAY 04
NEGAMBO /AIRPORT

After Lunch proceed to the Airport for Departure
Asiana Vacations wish you a safe journey back home with a memorable holiday in Sri Lanka.

Please note that you have to be at the Airport 3 hours prior to the departure flight.
